Adult pigeons are 6-10 inches long. They have short beaks, a fan shaped tail and a plump body. The body color varies from gray, black, white and a mixture of those colors.
Adult sparrows are 5-6 inches long with a chunky body. Females and young sparrows are a dull brown to gray, have a light eye stripe and gray breasts. Males have white cheeks, a brown mantle around the gray crown, black throat and brown wings.
Adult starlings are 8-9 inches long, weighing around 3 ounces. The body is round, compact and short with triangular wings. Young starlings are a grayish color while adults are an iridescent blue-black with gold flecks in the summer and white spots in the winter. The bill is dark in the winter and yellow in the summer.
